With a fast-growing list of dozens of product awards and honours to its name, LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc., a leading vendor of technology-based educational products, today (February 24, 2005) announced that it had been awarded three new honours for corporate achievement and excellence in the US and UK toy industries, as well as earning another prominent product accolade for the Infant/Preschool Toy of the Year (TOTY).

UK Toy Company of the Year 2004

Just five years after debuting in the UK market, LeapFrog was named the Company of the Year by the British Association of Toy Retailers (BATR) during the Toy of the Year Awards held in London on January 28th 2005. LeapFrog Toys (UK) Ltd was the fastest growing toy company in the top ten, jumping from the number ten position to the number five position within the past year. The UK- based company has sold more than one million LeapPad learning systems since its introduction in 2000.

In the US

Manufacturer of the Year

One of the leading US-based toy industry magazines, Playthings magazine, selected LeapFrog as the Manufacturer of the Year due to its continued innovation and redefinition of what it means to be a true "learning toy". LeapFrog delivered on the promise of educational excellence from its product outreach to the Hispanic community with ESL instruction, to a breakthrough launch of the Afghan Family Health Book, utilizing LeapPad(R) technology and developed in partnership with the US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The company was honoured at the Playthings 35th Annual Industry Achievement Awards on February 21st in New York City.

TIA Recognizes LeapFrog and Presents TOTY for Infant/Preschool Toy of the Year

The Toy Industry Association (TIA) honoured LeapFrog SchoolHouse as the recipient of its Caring for Children Recognition of Excellence at its annual Toy of the Year (TOTY) awards presentation in New York City on February 19th. The LeapFrog SchoolHouse division was chosen for its donation of five million dollars worth of Personal Learning Tools to more than 60 school districts nationwide to help fill the achievement gap for at-risk students in grades one to five.

 

         
In the product and industry award categories, LeapFrog was recognized with the Toy of the Year -- Infant / Preschool age group for its popular Fridge Phonics Magnetic Set that helps children aged two years and older to learn letter names, sounds and learning songs with colourful magnetic letters that stick to the refrigerator.
